I’m a firm believer that you don’t need to be 100% ready to start something new. If we wait for perfect timing, we’ll talk ourselves out of it every time. ✨

Back in 2017, I bought my first property, a duplex in Copperas Cove, Texas, and I lived on one side and rented out the other, all while commuting an hour and a half each way to work for over a year. It wasn’t a tiny home, but it opened my eyes to the possibilities of renting and taught me what it’s really like to work with tenants. Funny enough, I discovered I actually enjoyed it!

My first tiny home project came later in 2018, a guesthouse at my home in Buda, Texas. That’s where I learned the ins and outs of renovation and got the chance to work side by side with my dad. There were plenty of twists, turns, and lessons (like realizing we needed permits 😅), but it all worked out. “La Casita” has been going strong for 6 years now 💪🏽🏡

Sharing this as a reminder: whatever it is you’ve been wanting to do — just start. The right people and opportunities will show up once you take that first step. 🌿

El Olivo 🌿
This is the first tiny home we built, completed in 2020, and it holds a special place in my heart. I named it after my grandfather’s ranch in Guanajuato, Mexico — El Olivo.

My family’s history is rooted in that land. My grandparents worked hard to build a life there, raising crops and animals, but over time, the ranch was lost due to failed harvests and debt. Eventually, my dad had to leave because there simply wasn’t enough food.

Growing up hearing these stories has always grounded me. They remind me how much strength and sacrifice it took for my family to create a better future. Every time I look at this home, I think about that journey and I feel deep gratitude for the opportunities their sacrifices made possible.

El Olivo isn’t just a tiny home — it’s a tribute to resilience, family, and hope. ❤️🇲🇽

Just finished installing a new lock on one of the Airbnbs — after two failed attempts 😅. A friend had told me about this lock and how perfect it would be for the properties. Now, all the homes have it — finally!

Moments like this remind me how grateful I am for the people who share thoughtful advice and support. From tips to hands-on help getting the homes guest-ready, every bit counts.

This is my first full year as a solopreneur… but truthfully, it hasn’t felt like I’ve done it alone. I’m so thankful for everyone who’s been part of the journey. 🙏🏽

I genuinely love creating spaces where people can slow down, breathe, and truly feel at home. That’s what it’s all about. 💛

People often ask me about some of the crazy things guests do — and let me tell you, I’ve seen some things.

Hosting is incredibly rewarding. I love creating memorable stays and getting feedback that helps me grow as a host and make the homes even better equipped.

But sometimes… guests really throw you for a loop:

🛏️ Torn bed sheets
🐓 A dog vs. chicken situation (RIP, chicken)
… and the list goes on.
